Sustainable. Ecological. Integral. Development.
“Solidarity means much more than engaging in sporadic acts of generosity. It means thinking and acting in terms of community.”
- Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti (116)
Our Mission: The Miami/Port-de-Paix, Haiti, Global Solidarity Partnership (GSP) leverages South Florida resources into long-term, sustainable, social, economic, and environmental development projects in the Archdiocese of Miami’s sister-diocese of Port-de-Paix, Haiti - The poorest region of the poorest country in the western Hemisphere.
The Cafe Cocano Fair/Direct Trade Coffee and Cacao Initiative
Through a unique collaboration with the Cafèière et Cacaouyère du Nord Ouest (COCANO) coffee/cacao cooperative, Panther Coffee, and Exquisito Chocolates, the GSP brings 100% organic coffee and cacao to market in a fair/direct trade relationship that empowers local communities, reforests the land, and builds a sustainable socio-economic infrastructure for Haiti's future.
The Atelye Thevenet Fair/Direct Trade Artisan Initiative
In partnership with the Atelye Thevenet fair/direct trade artisan workshop in Jean Rabel, Haiti, the GSP is proud to offer unique, handcrafted items that empower women in one of the Western Hemisphere’s most impoverished regions. Products range from colorful paintings, to hand-painted crosses, to custom-made tote-bags, messenger bags, and backpacks.
